Updates and Going-On’s
This week has been tumultuous at best! I did get all of the Special Orders done, completed and out the door yesterday morning. I have one “fix-it” job to do this afternoon and about a half dozen clean up jobs that I want to get out of my way before I get started on a few Pouches. Sew, sew, sew, sew!
Since Platypus didn’t get a full time spot with the Missoula People’s Market, I can go in as a gust vendor, so I’m going to start heading out that way the first Saturday in June. Or at least that is the plan. I’ve been told don’t even bother showing up if it’s raining, but I really, really, really want to get to selling again, so I might just risk it and give it a whirl.
This weekend, I’m going to get started on a metric ton of Smartphone pouches for 2 different sizes. A larger one to fit a lot of the newer, taller Smartphones like the HTC, Razor, Samsungs and LG’s plus my standard size for the iPhones and smaller cells. I figure if I have the 2 sizes available there is guaranteed to be one that will fit your phone!
I will also be starting up on 4 different sized Lens Pouches. I have a set standard of sizes that folks have been asking for. I’m also thinking about bundling a lot of these photography sets together. Any thoughts on that?
Last but not least, Platypus was accepted into the Hamilton Renaissance Faire August 10-12. Yup, the gadget girl is going Old School. REAL old school. I even have my SCA costume with a few adaption’s that I’m going to wear. I’ll be making a set of pouches JUST for this faire using materials I normally wouldn’t use (velvets, silks, satins, tapestry looking cottons, yummy fabrics like that). In hopes of creating Pouches that will hide modern day gadgets and blend in with the Faire atmosphere. I LOVE a good challenge, don’t you? Army Guy is going too (we are dressing him up like Commander Mormont from Game of Thrones) and will be volunteering at the Faire. Gotta love a guy in the Night’s Watch….

Oh and before I forget, I canceled my Twitter feed a few days ago. I got seriously spammed and I got tired of all the garbage coming through so if you want to fallow me, this site and Facebook will be the most current!
