So, let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.
OK. My bad. I’ve been focusing so hard these past months on Operation: Alpha Dog that I really let my goal of blogging on Platypus slide to the side and that was so not ok. So, let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.
Camera Gear Pouches
I’ve been sewing away creating a fun series of camera gear Pouches, not just for the DSLR/SLR set of folks either. I’ve managed to come up with a super cute point and shoot camera bag as well. I only know a few folks who use DSLR’s and most use with their phones or their point and shoots. It looks like my eReader Pouch had a hot date with me Smartphone Pouch and one of them got knocked up. I also have various height sizes on my lens Pouches, because there are a few of us with various sizes of lenses. I’ve added an extra batting layer in the Padded Camera Strap of 100% cotton batting to the part that rests on your neck to help make it just that much softer as well as help to soak up the sweat during the summer months.
Operation: Alpha Dog Collars
This is where the Pouch meets the pooch! I came up with a few ideas and sent them over to our Service Dog group, only to discover they are still not quite right. So, being the Geekette, I took a class, and NOW I have it right. I can make Kitten/Cat collars and Toy to Extra Huge Monster collars. The theory came when I adjusted my camera Strap. I wanted cotton against the animals fur, bit that horrible nylon webbing. So, it’s not like I don’t have tons of scraps lying around here. The rest shall we say is history. I’ll have these debuting at the UC Spring Art Show April 19-21. All of the sales of these will go to Operation: Alpha Dog. I’ve also come up with an adaptation of the Camera Pouch to a Goggie Outing Pouch. Someplace to store poop bags, keys, phone, cards, treats, etc. I set 2 over to heeling Allies and I’ve not heard back yet.
Special Addition Jayne Cobb Smartphone Pouch
Well, I had to try, right? I meant he Service Dog’s name is Jayne. Steve’s favorite charter is Jayne. Heaven knows I’ve knitted enough Jayne hats to know the color scheme! And I totally think this is too much fun! I’m trying to figure out a way to put a pom-pom somewhere on the pouch itself. All of the funds from this will go to Operation: Alpha Dog. As soon as I can, I’ll make eReader and Tablet/iPad Pouches with the same scheme! If you would like to purchase a Jayne Pouch, just click on the photo!
Quilting Gone Mad
I decided to not only add 2 Sets of Platypus Pouches for the Auction on April 4-7, but to also make 2 crib/lap quilts. Normally I’m a take your time to plan it thing. Yeah, noooooo….I cranked out 2 completed quilts in 2 weeks. Both were made from Kate Spain charm Packs and I’ve decided I LOVE doing these style quilts! I’m starting both at $50.00. What do you think? If you want to bid, click on the photos and it will take you to the bidding site!
